featuring Doreen about her new book,

"Embracing Venus: Achieve a Life Lit Up for Highly Sensitive People"

April 24, 2024.

Hi, I'm Doreen,

Several years ago, I experienced a life-changing experience. This event was painful, rocked my world, and made me see that I was living my life ignoring the very signs that I needed to live a happier and healthier life. This event was literally what work me up. It was as though I could see for the very first time, and it transformed the trajectory of my life. I share my story to help others in my book.

Several months later, I left corporate America and opened Blossom Healing Studio where I currently coach, educate, and support Highly Sensitive People (HSPs).

What makes me different? I am an empath.

I have deep intuitive and psychic tendencies. These unique skills help me to completely understand your struggles and therefore are very powerful in helping you achieve the results you want.

Late 2021, I opened Blossom Healing Studio in Norwell Massachusetts, and created a beautiful space for healing and Reiki. In the bright and relaxing space, I also hold my individual and group sessions.

In addition to Reiki, my clients want to learn more about their sensitivity and challenges. They want to go deeper. There is so much to teach and share, so I created my Signature Program,“Embracing Venus: 7 Activators to a Life Lit Up for Highly Sensitive People,” which is designed for HSPs to tune in and protect their energy to gain confidence and control. It’s eight weeks long in a group setting, which I keep small enough to allow everyone to recieve personal attention.

While creating my Signature Program, I applied research and personal stories and wrote and published: Embracing Venus: Achieve a Life Lit Up for Highly Sensitive People. I created this so people would understand they are not alone. They are, indeed, special.

Available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble and Balboa Press

Prior to opening Blossom Healing Studio, I spent my previous career leading organizations on best management practices around employee engagement. I applied my strategies as a General Manager of a 55+ community with over 1,260 residents where I ‘turned around’ a dysfunctional and ineffective team; implementing practices I designed and delivered was awarded them Property of the Year award. I was also Vice President, managing a diverse portfolio of 33 communities and 227 staff members throughout New England.

I felt so strongly about creating positive employee-centric environments that I wrote and published three highly popular books to ensure retention.

1. Hang on to Your Stars. The First 90-Days: A Step-by-Step Employee Engagement Solution for the Senior Living Community

2. How to Drive Employee Retention: In the First 90 Days

3. Putting Differences to Work.

Coaching Books to Support and Retain Employees

Businesses I consulted for include Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana-Farber, Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, Bunker Hill Community College, and Harvard Medical School.

Colleges I taught at included Bentley University, Regis College, and Bay State College.

While I was being interviewed on 95.9 FM about my coaching books, the host asked me if I would fill in for him as the host for the following year. I was excited. It was a new interesting experienced and pushed my personal and professional limits.

I had a chance to meet so many interesting people, actors, singers, CEOs authors, medical specialists, and others, but I especially loved inerviewing a very famous musician. He was one of my favorities. Do you remember Gary Puckett & The Union Gap? He was real and humbled and mostly talked about his grandkids! It was a wonderful experience.

My current public talks are

The Empath's Survival Guide and

Exploring Creative Outlets for Self-Care: Nurturing Your Well-being Through Art, Writing, and Expression.

For the past twenty years, I’ve been featured in The Boston Globe and local newspapers, written articles on topics of employee retention and leadership strategies for Mass High Tech, The Boston Globe, and regional newspapers. I’ve been interviewed extensively on Boston radio, TV, and local stations.

I currently speak publicly, and I enjoy being invited to speak and help more people!

My formal education:

I graduated with a BS in education from UMASS Boston, Cambridge College with a masters in management, and a paralegal certificate at Bentely College. I am a PhD candidate at Nova Southeastern University and a Reiki Master.

To my HSP friends, I know what it feels like being an HSP
